Name:
Martus Deegan
Age:
20
Race Name:
Melder Human
Race Description: A Melder is a sub-type of humans that have the ability to enchant or "meld" items with different effects or abilities. While each Melder can give any number of enchantments to an item, those effects will be "moderate" or less in power. The sole exception is a Melder's specialty enchantment, which can be up to "strong" with enough effort. They need time and intense concentration to meld an object, and cannot create objects from thin air. (This is to prevent melding mid thread, they can't do that). An item, once melded, cannot be melded again, at least not by the same Melder. Only mundane items can be melded. Every Melder has a different colored aura that their melds use, to help identify who made what. The item will flash that color when in use. These generally match the unnatural eye color that the Melder has. With enough effort, the Melder can hid this effect, but there's generally no reason to. With time, a specialty meld can reach "epic" power, but this takes much time and training. No other melds can go up in power.
Racial Powers:
Melding- A special ability that forces a magical ability on an item.
Specialty Meld - A specialty meld is the term for the one meld that a melder can do better than any other melder. Martus' is Buff Sharing. Generally this means that Martus makes items that passively share buffs really well. (Up to Strong).
Description of Character:
Martus is around 6'2", deeply tan, with thick brown hair that sticks out in all sorts of directions. He's thin, fairly muscular, and gives off an inquisitive vibe through posture and mannerism. His eyes are a solid, forest-y green.
Character Personality:
Generally soft spoken and kind, Martus is the kind of guy who'll do you a favor in a pinch. He's naturally curious, fairly smart and calm. He almost always comes off as a little disheveled though. Tends to be the sort who can't tell when he's taken on too many projects.
Inventory:
1. Melding Guide - A small, leather bound book that contains detailed instructions on how to meld items with various effects. Not usable by any other race. Each book is specific to the Melder, and they tend to keep them close and private, since they contain notes on the Melder's specialty meld.
2. Metal Sword - Just a plain broad sword. Weak damage.
3. Metal Shield - Your basic heater shield. Moderate protection.
4. Melded Ring - It's a simple ring that has been enchanted to make any buffs shareable to allies. Can perfectly translate any buff up to Strong power. Anything above isn't transferable.
5. Swapstaff (Artifact) - This plain wooden staff is about the weight of a good baseball bat. Unlike other items, this Staff can be melded quickly, and can be melded more than once. This is a specialty meld made by a Melder who died quite a long time ago. Such relics of their work are very rare. It allows any Melder to pick it up, and force an enchantment on it, once per thread. Even though the enchantment that's placed disappears at the end of a thread, it's still rather impressive. What's more impressive is that, instead of melding, the staff can be tapped against any item once per thread and immediately gain all that items' non mundane properties. An amazing piece of work. Can also produce Weak impact damage.
Work Items:
Plain Brown Cloak
Black Tee-shirt
Blue jeans
