Name: Osyris Rydell
Age: 30
Race Name: Psionic Human (Oracle/Telepath)
Race Description: Found here.
Racial Powers:
Description of Character:
Osyris is a human psion, a native of Rune and a professor at the university in the Scholar District, where he makes his home. He is tall for his race--about 6'2"--and generally what would be considered handsome, with dark skin and bright amber-golden eyes. He has a bit of an idol worship complex where Shah Thoth is concerned and is intensely loyal to the Shah's leadership, though he is non-combative as a rule and will nearly always try to mediate conflict rather than incite it. That having been said, he does love a good adventure and has been known on occasion to cancel classes so he can pursue rumors of some new goings-on in the further reaches of the city.
Character Personality:
Osyris is, above all else, a seeker of knowledge and adventurer. He is generally good-natured and tends toward pacifism, but this depends largely on the situation. A certain amount of this pacifist outlook is a side effect of his own overconfidence in his intellect and diplomatic abilities--he doesn't see the need to prepare for violence, as he is certain he will never need it. He projects an image of calm confidence in nearly all circumstances, meeting any challenges to this image with an enigmatic smile, but beneath the surface he can become prone to intensely troubling bouts of self-doubt and existential crisis--the burden of trying to be too certain of the unknowable. He is unfailingly kind and compassionate and patient to those he likes or respects, but this is a small circle and making a bad first impression on him will likely earn you a scathing dismissal delivered in friendly condescension. At his core, Osyris is deeply good and wants all things to work out to the best for everyone involved in a given scenario, but he struggles with the compulsion to use his intellect and natural leadership abilities to manipulate those outcomes singlehandedly and sometimes without the knowledge of everyone involved. He sees information as the most powerful weapon and ignorance as the most destructive evil.

Age: 30
Race Name: Psionic Human (Oracle/Telepath)
Race Description: Found here.
Racial Powers:
- Oracle - Osyris has strong clairsentience which allows him to infer information about a person that may not be readily apparent [WPP]. This allows him to perceive disguises, detect lies, and discover identities through active observation. The ability is moderate if he is simply looking at a person, but elevated to strong if he hears them speak (or observes them communicating, in the case of mute individuals).
- Telepath - Osyris has a weak version of conversational telepathy that allows him to project/receive thoughts with people in the same room.

Inventory:
- Cloak of the True Peacebringer - ARTIFACT - This bone white cloak has an ivory trim and declares the wearer's allegiance to the City of Rune. While worn, no violent actions can be taken by the wearer or anyone within sight of them. (Protection level: EPIC) Already existing hazards, such as fire, storms, an ongoing poison, etc, are not stopped by this cloak but the ability to cause new hazards is. (Any conflict on the idea of what constitutes a violent action, please tag a general mod or an admin for assistance.) The wearer also exudes a soft light that, at will, can become painfully bright like the sun. Everywhere the wearer goes, they create an intense (power level: EPIC) aura of soothing that makes even wanting to attempt violence undesirable (player discretion on how effective this is.) This item is an artifact.
- Sunflash Whip - A silvery-white bullwhip that glints in the light. When it cracks in the air, it emits a bright flash that can temporarily blind or daze others (Power level: LIGHT-MODERATE), though its main ability is its capacity to latch onto, wrap around, or otherwise touch intangible objects and individuals (Power level: STRONG). If it remains wrapped around a person or object powered by literal or conceptual/arcane "darkness", it will continue to deal (PL: LIGHT) holy damage every round. In all other cases, it functions as a mundane whip.
- Soothesayer Codex - A book full of healing prayers written in an ancient dialect of Rune. Each page of the book contains a spell for a different type of ailment, so it is possible to find nearly any solution within its contents, but the more severe conditions take much longer to decipher and are much more complex to manage. In general, WEAK healing can be completed in a single post, with each progressive power level taking one additional consecutive turn. (weak = 1 turn, light = 2 turns, moderate = 3 turns, etc) [Healing of other players can only occur WPP]
- Copper Ankhlet - A wrought copper anklet twisted elegantly into the shape of an ankh. Osyris swears this is the secret behind his seemingly limitless energy and focus. Whether it's actually physiologically effective or just a powerful placebo effect is dubious at best, but either way it offers a (PL: MODERATE) boost to his energy and mental clarity.
- Academician's Armor - A plain but fashionable sleeveless leather jerkin imbued with a defensive spell that gives it the blade-stopping power of closely knit chainmail. Good for adventurers who need a convenient defense but don't plan to do much actual fighting.
- Weathered Fedora - This oddly-styled hat serves no purpose and looks kind of dumb, but Osyris loves it. He is of the opinion it makes him look rugged and dashing. Fedoras have never been in style in Rune.
- Pedancy Pendant - A curiously shaped emblem on a surprisingly sturdy cord. It gives the wearer the ability to understand and communicate in all forms of spoken, written, or signed language. Osyris wears this at all times.
