Name: Kestrel ‘Veritux’ Tempest
Age:24
Race Name:Human
Race Description: Sci-fi Human
Racial Powers: None
Spells/Trained Abilities/Other:
Kestrel lacks magical capability, and these are simply trained tactics she employs in the midst of battle.
Duplication(weak): Kestrel seems to meld into two identical copies of herself. One of them is a hologram. All holograms she make are instantly destroyed by any physical or magical attack, and will not cause any physical harm if they land a blow, although the sound will still ring out as if it had. This ability can be used in quick succession.
Ascension(light): Kestrel propels herself upwards, leaping a massive height. If she fails to grasp onto anything, or land on anything, she will fall to an injury.
Disintegration(moderate): Kestrel and any surviving holograms will all duplicate and flee in random directions, jumping around as well. After traveling half a kilometer from her, they disintegrate from poor connection. Makes hunting her down nearly impossible.
Inundation(moderate): Kestrel fades into a host of holograms which fan out and surround an enemy. After a short while, they all thrust their weapon forward at once in deadly unison, never revealing which one is real.
Confrontation(strong): Kestrel phases into eight clones, each lunging at the enemy one after another, aiming for the head. A random one will be Kestrel herself, indiscernible from the rest, which deals the real destructive hit unless disrupted or quickly avoided.
Annihilation(strong): For as long as she wishes, the holograms are given physical being, letting them strike Kestrel’s enemies and absorb blows. This overcharge destroys all of them afterwards and makes it impossible for her to make more illusions for a time equal to the duration, and may cause static discharge if used for more than a minute, affecting her and those nearby.
Description of Character: Kestrel is a ghastly figure from a long distance, covering her face with a plain black mask, and her head covered in a large black hat, which appears made of straw, although on closer inspection actually of a thin metal. Her voice is strongly distorted so much so that it can hardly be deduced that she is a female, providing the mask is on. Her body clothing is hardly different, covered by a flowing robe, giving her the appearance of some sort of apparition. When her mask and robes are removed, she seems like a different person entirely with long, flowing black hair, piercing blue eyes, an Asiatic complexion, and fair body. Naturally, she keeps these vastly different versions of her totally separate. Needless to say, she is a fighter; without conflict, she ceases to have a purpose besides another awkward person to add to the lot.
She is actually the middle child of one of the wealthiest merchants in the known universe. No one knows her as such. Veritux is her typical name when she’s on the job, and even the name Kestrel has no meaning anywhere, since she took another pseudonym after leaving to find her own destiny. That may have been a mistake, as she is now far less wealthy than she could have been. She initially fled due to a galactic revolution in her space, which led to extremely high death tolls, most of her family included. Most merchants affiliated themselves with the rebels. She eventually fled entirely, leaving the family fortune to her more clever and financially competent younger brother.
She does still have a small home in the city itself, a permanent home at that with a hidden cache of her items, but she still works tirelessly when needed. Her style of fighting: utilizing illusions to make even knowing which one she is impossible: has made her quite famous among wealthy who wish to hire her, and her prices make it positive that only the wealthy could even hope to afford her. The entirety of her battle strength comes from her equipment, and she is an ordinary human without them.
Character Personality: While seeming like an unstoppable one woman army in the midst of a fight, outside of the battlefield Kestrel struggles immensely with social situations and will often stutter an excuse and leave. Otherwise, she is cold and fierce with her financial dealings, hired as muscle, a mercenary, or even an assassin, although she strongly dislikes murder and has vowed to never draw blood, hence her blunt weapon. Without her army of illusions, she is easily singled out and dealt with in a fight, being an ordinary human with no natural skills of note, but when in her preferred combat outfit, she is incredibly cocky and will never show a sign of fear unless if someone managed to remove her essential headgear. She is difficult to fight, and for that reason clearly has no modesty, having never been defeated in her mind although close counters have occurred. Being so irrationally smug, she has no regenerative abilities aside from a small vial and could probably die from any severe injury, but doesn’t view injury as something that is possible for her to receive, except by accident. This view, while totally untrue, is why she will fight just about anything for the right price, legality be damned. She is quite gullible, but pretty unforgiving, and she has no tolerance for people who know her duality of person. To this day, she has assured that no one knows the connection between her two alter egos. She goes the extra mile by moving differently, speaking differently, and acting very differently.
Inventory:
Abounding Spread(Epic Artifact): A one-of-a-kind conical hat with the appearance of darkened straw, but feeling and structure of light and highly durable metal. It was commissioned for her long ago by her obscenely wealthy father and allows Kestrel, or any wearer, to disperse her consciousness across twenty holograms, letting them act and appear identical to her. If removed from her head, the connection is broken and they stand completely still and eventually expire, hence it being locked onto her head with her hair fastened inside of it securely to prevent an easy defeat. In addition, it provides significant energy boosts (Moderate), staving off exhaustion significantly while worn, although this also has consequences of fatigue when removed.
Armageddon Cudgel(Strong): A brutal metallic bludgeon forged from a meteor on the end of a long pole, capable of knocking people unconscious with a single decisive blow if landed correctly on the top of the skull (WPP). The weapon is incapable of causing an enemy to bleed. Can be resized from one to four feet quickly for close combat or sheathing/unsheathing the weapon, which dangles from her right hip when not used.
Propellant Boots(light): These advanced shoes allow high jumps, vertically or horizontally, for offensive or defensive purposes. They also make some falls less hazardous(weak).
Regenerative Spray(light): A small vial which can be sprayed on minor wounds for cures, or moderate wounds for numbed pain.
Mask of Veritux(light): A flat black mask which seamlessly covers the front of her face, protecting it against minor damage and distorting her voice beyond recognition.
Robes of Veritux(weak): Simple and flowing clothes without any protection whatsoever but rather ease of movement, worn over her civilian sets.
Civilian Clothes: Tighter and less suspicious outfits worn when off-duty.
