Name: Auvrie
Age: Equivalent to 19 years
Race Name: Corporeal Fae/Fey
Race Description: A subgroup of what essentially amounts to mortal fairies who have lived in isolation on an extremely small and remote forested moon of little significance, marked by four hour days and sixty hour nights due to constant interference from neighboring planets. Physically, they are all small and petite creatures, although indistinguishable from the common human except for their size, wings, eyes, ears, and hair. As mentioned, they’re small; roughly 5-7 inches. Their wings are mostly transparent, although sometimes decorated or outlined. Their eyes are usually a solid color and glow with that color’s light; this means they are essentially lanterns at night or in the dark, as long as their eyes are open.. Their ears are usually of great size and appear in many shapes. At last, the hair of the Corporeal Fae can be literally any color, and do not deteriorate with age. Speaking of age, their lifespan averages out to 150 Earth years due to extensive healing magic. Without magical intervention, that number would be cut in half.
Culturally, they do not possess surnames, and allow each name to be used only once, hence the increasing complexity. This worked because their population never exceeded twenty thousand. They lived in small woodland communities in primitive peace. Magic was universally used; even farmers used it to expand production of their peculiar crops. With a small population all clustered in a small city of ‘massive’ wooden and earthen buildings, there was never really a sense of awkwardness; despite a culture of arranged marriages and assigned jobs, almost everyone got along. They possessed absolutely no warlike capacity, apart from a secretive branch of a dozen warriors with elaborate spears and intensive magical capabilities. Even they are a pitiful ‘army’ made only for show after an incident where one of the silk spiders, from which their clothes are sewn, went on a rampage due to a misplaced enchantment.
Racial Powers:
Flight(moderate): The Corporeal Fae can fly and hover with surprising strength, speed, and agility for extended periods of time, although prone to exhaustion. If their wings are removed or severely damaged, this ability ceases to function.
Affinity for Magic(strong): The Fae are able to grasp and learn magic very easily, use it often, and are far more resistant to offensive incantations.
Spells/Trained Abilities/Other:
Shift(weak): Auvrie can instantaneously transport herself a very short distance to dodge attacks or move through walls with precision. This cannot be used if she is in physical contact with anything.
Slumber Dust(light): Conjures a cloud of particles that, when inhaled, cause high desire to collapse in sleep or intense drowsiness. Effects never last longer than an hour
Imperceptible Guise(light): Cast upon herself or others, the recipient and their equipment become invisible to the naked eye. If they are shaken, fall over, or collide into anything abruptly, this is dispelled.
Pacify(moderate): Lowers someone’s desire for violence or bloodlust, twisting their mind to attempt to make the bodily harm of others undesirable. Duration depends on how enraged the target was, and it loses strength the more it is used on a person. WPP
Omnicure(moderate): Creates a circular barrier around any living creature. Can be destroyed by the person inside, or from outer sources. Protects against one spell/attack before shattering. It also removes moderate and minor wounds.
Sever Lifeforce(moderate): Disconnects an enemy’s mind from their body, causing their movements to be jittery and uncoordinated for a short period(WPP). If the target is shaken abruptly or falls over, then the spell is removed.
Crystal Prison(Strong): Auvrie forms a thick freezing chamber over someone, rendering them unable to move at all. (WPP) Can be broken from the outside, destroyed by magic from within, or melt after a short period.
Soul Conduit(Strong+): The opposite of Sever Lifeforce, Soul Conduit connects her immense magical properties to cure all non-fatal wounds from someone and give them immense mental clarity, strength, and almost limitless physical energy. The link is visible by a bright rainbow ray of flowing energy. If Auvrie is injured or disrupted, she will be knocked unconscious.
Description of Character: Simply put, short and unruly brown hair, bright green eyes, tan skin. Possesses the typical set of wings that her species is known for, difficult to see from afar due to their transparent nature. Very slender, and of course extraordinarily tiny as is typical of her species. Her clothing consists of several shades of green and covers her well.
Her history has been a comedy of errors. Assigned as one of the farmhands to the silk spider farms, she lived a peaceful life, trained in magic rigorously, and was blissful and ignorant. However, when a small piece of jettisoned cargo crashed onto her world, and she reached it before it could be quarantined, she realized that there were other things out in the universe, and the next day cast a teleportation spell on herself. This sent her spiraling into Rune, as she was inexperienced with the craft. After witnessing a brawl in utter horror, of both the scale and the large quantity of blood on the floor, she warped herself back to her world as soon as she was able a few weeks later, exhausted from the ordeal. However, for the first time she grew angry at the ignorance of her people, and when there was a suggestion for an arranged marriage, she finally snapped, and gave a thunderous slap to a council member’s cheek. She was promptly exiled for this show of brutal violence. Having nowhere else to go to, she stole a host of spellbooks and went back. Lacking any sort of currency, stealing quickly became a necessary evil for her.
Character Personality: If described in one word, Auvrie would certainly be sanguine. While lacking a home to go to, or friends to confide in, she possesses an indomitable will to continue living and improve her own and other’s lives. Despite this, she is far from a selfless person, and finds herself stealing quite often(although obviously, given her size, theft has mixed results). Back when she was on her home planet, she was completely impervious to sad thoughts. While not nearly as optimistic as she once was, she still possesses a solid amount, as well as a new flavor of curiosity, prompting her to ask questions on how things work or ponder it herself. While cringing at the thought of inorganic constructs accomplishing work, she is still fascinated by machinery to this day for the genius needed to create it.
Inventory:
A Fae Spellbook: A tiny tome which encase a lot of different ancient spells. The most prevalent of these is the translocation spell (strong), which lets her teleport astronomically gargantuan distances. Another is Arcane Lance, the only offensive spell she is able to use, which launches an incredibly thin projectile of magic through almost anything, even flesh (light). Another is Piercing Flare, which allows her to send a colossal beam of light into the air(light). A peculiar final spell is Influence Fantasy, which causes people already sleeping to have vivid dreams of what they are most worried about, and have that problem resolved in the dream. (weak) (WPP) These spells, unlike her other, require mental concentration to pull off and the text itself on-hand. The other spells in the book have all been lost to history, with Auvrie unable to comprehend them entirely and their pages damaged beyond any repair or recognition.
Besides those, a bedroll made from an extraordinarily tough plant fiber and spider silk, and a few different sets of silken clothes. Aside from those, nothing she has is permanent. She possesses no physical weapon.
