Undine Powers
1. Ocean Whip - Ketrix can create a coil of flowing salt water that functions as a whip. Anything she strikes with the whip takes Light damage and is doused with a pint of salt water. Creatures vulnerable to salt or water take an additional Moderate injury. This whip also counts as a Moderate effect for the purpose of putting out a fire.
2. Vortex - Once per day, Ketrix can create a whirlpool in any body of water. Any creature that comes in contact with the vortex must swim away or be dealt a Moderate amount of bludgeoning damage and be caught in the current. Any creature caught in the whirlpool will have to fight to keep its head above water or hold its breath to avoid drowning. The vortex lasts for 5 rounds. [PL: Moderate]
3. Seamantle - Once per thread, Ketrix can sheathe herself within a churning column of pure elemental water up to 20 feet high that fills her space. She is able to swim, see, and hear normally within the seamantle, but the churning water helps obscure her from view from the outside. All attacks made against her are treated as if she were underwater, providing her with physical protection. The seamantle has no effect on mental/emotion effects, or on effects that do not travel physically to their target. [PL: Moderate]
The Person
Description of Character: Ketrix is short (about 5'4") and heavy-set, with muscles strong from swimming hidden under a comfortable layer of pudge. She's a big fan of skirts and dresses, especially long, flowy styles that remind her of ripping water when she moves. Sea green is one of her most common colours, with pink and purple tying for a close second. Whatever she wears, it's always accompanied by a good deal of jewelry. She loves gold, pearls, and abalone in particular.
Her skin is dark, which makes her pale bluish-lavender eyes all the more noticeable, and her ears have fins that are a darker shade of purple. Her hands and feet have webbing in the same colour, and scales in a darker shade cover the backs of her forearms and her shins. Her deep blue-purple hair is thick and coarse and worn long, often with some sort of hair clip or other accessory.
Character Personality: Perky, cheerful, and optimistic to a fault. Ketrix doesn't often have to try to convince herself that things will work out - she genuinely believes it. When things don't work out, she tries to at least find a silver lining. She's social and bubbly, and likes to make people feel happy and welcome, and is often at a loss when someone responds to her good cheer with hostility or pessimism. She's a bit immature, though she does have her moments of maturity.
She's a sucker for a good romantic story, whether in real life or in fiction, and loves setting people up and arranging get-togethers, though she's kind of oblivious when someone hits on her.
She likes to consider herself above/not contributing to class issues, and is anonymous online, though growing up with her advantages has left her kind of oblivious to some things and she has a habit of unintentionally taking on an "I know best" attitude with lower-class individuals. She means well, but she's not good at checking her class privilege. She likes the idea of bucking the system, but in practice, her gestures (mostly reblogging and retweeting) usually amount to just that: gestures.
The Stuff
Worn/Equipped
Head - Rose and Gold Hairpin - This hairpin is made of gold. Two somewhat sharp tines stretch up to an oval shaped working of gold leaf-and-feather design, swirling around a circular piece of rose opal that seems to glow softly with the light of an ocean sunset.
While worn, it makes your tongue a little more silver and smooth, making what you say a little more easier to believe and obey. [PL: Light | WPP.] This effect is enhanced if you're trying to be diplomatic and talk someone out of a fight or other hostile action [PL: Moderate | WPP.]
Ring 1 - Spiky Toe Ring - This toe ring has a row of tiny spikes on the top. The wearer is now able to walk on walls and ceilings. [PL: Light]
Hands - Fancy Fingeless Glove - These fancy gold lace fingerless gloves are made of baroque floral patterns, coming to a triangular peak over the middle finger. They can ripple and flow when put on, reshaping to fit any hand, claw, tentacle, or alien limb.
While worn, your touch confers Ice damage [PL: Light]
Feet - Oceanic Heels - These bronzey-looking heels are reminiscent of metal exposed to the sea for too long. The top of the toe contains a casual spill of tiny seashells, water-smoothed stones, and bits of coral. The back of the heel is completely encrusted with miniature, iridescent 'clams' and barnacles made of crafted sequins. The heel and underside of the shoe look like salt deposit, dangling down as if from long abandoned ship or a mysterious sea cave.
While wearing these shoes, you can walk on water and are granted hydrokinesis. [PL: Moderate]
Melding them can also impart ocean/sea/water effects.
Weapon - Long Reach of Cold Cruelty - This metal hook-tippped whip is studded throughout with incredibly sharp pieces of amethyst. It can burst into flames or release blasts of freezing cold as the wielder wishes. It stretches as far as the situation calls for, and can draw things that are hit with it back to the user. Finally, it can do considerable cutting damage in skilled hands, but it also leaves wounds that do not not heal with time, requiring the use of healing items or powers. [PL: Moderate]

❉ Catfish o' Nine Tails - Functions as a regular flogger with the added ability to extend its tails, which will then operate independently to wrap a target up. In the water, Ketrix can command it to swim after a target or expel a cloud of ink. Technically, the ink thing can happen on land, too, but it tends to be less than effective. [PL: Moderate]
